How it works

Through an intelligent algorithm, the app reviews the entire list of pup joints entered into the app - up to 200 pup joints (and more).

It processes each individual effective lengths of the pup joints and select the most optimal/closest combination of pup joints that would conform to the required gap/length requested.

The length/gap is typically the gap/length determined after a space out process is carried out (e.g. tubing hanger space out or wash pipe space out) by the completions/drilling engineer/specialist.

Referring to the schematic above, the length/gap refers to the gap between the bottom of the tubing hanger pup joint assembly and the completion string below as denoted by the red “X”.

Referring to the schematic above, the length/gap refers to the gap between the bottom of the drillpipe joint located inside the BOP and the drillstring below it as denoted by “X”.

Typically, the drillpipe joints are to be located away from the BOP ram.
